Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, I was that kid who couldn’t sit still. I grew up playing just about every sport you can think of, football, basketball, wrestling, track, swim team, boxing, Muay Thai, snowboarding, you name it. I even took my love for sports to college, playing football at Central Michigan.
But before I moved to California and became a trainer, I spent time working in the mental health field. That experience taught me something no textbook ever could: how much people’s emotional struggles can hold them back, and how powerful it is to have someone believe in you. That’s why I approach training the way I do, it’s not just about sets, reps, and macros. It’s about understanding you, where you’re coming from, what you’ve been through, and what’s holding you back.
With nearly two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve been lucky to train just about every type of person you can imagine. From first-timers who feel lost in the gym, to seasoned athletes chasing big goals, to pre-teens just learning the ropes, to seniors who want to stay strong and independent. No matter who you are, I believe fitness should meet you where you are, and help you get where you want to go.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about building a better body, it’s about building a better you.
